Long lasting henna tattoo stain
It takes usually 1 hour for henna paste to dry.
We recommend wrapping your henna stain in clear wrap/clingfilm during the first night to protect and enhance the design and prevent your clothes from being stained. Also this is how traditionally it used to be done.
It would also help for you to leave your henna paste for upto 6 if you have time in order to intensify the colour and produce a longer lasting effect.
After your desired amount of time, you should notice the henna has now dried and will be easy to peel or rub off simply by using your fingers. (Any oil will assist this process)
Henna binds to the keratin in your skin. We all have different levels of keratin, so the stains can vary from person to person depending on different skin shades. (below is a diagram of which parts of body henna stains works best)
Finally it will reveal an orange stained design on your skin.
Your henna colour will deepen into a richer reddish-brown colour over the next 48 hours.
Try to avoid contact with water during the first 24 hours after as this can interrupt the oxidization and darkening process of the henna.
If you wish to wash off any henna paste during the first 24 hours, please use a small amount of lemon juice or oil rather than water.
When showering or bathing, it is best to rub a small amount of oil which acts as a protective barrier between skin and water.
