....50 Shades Of skin...
From my experience as a beauty therapist, when most people hear the word 'beauty therapist', they often associate it with ladies sitting around looking glamorous but beauty really is literally skin deep!
So when it comes to makeup, trying to find your own 'skin undertone' can help you make the best choices for your overall outlook. From choosing hair dye color, to the clothes you wear and ofcourse the makeup you apply.
Science of skin
Skin is made up of three layers:
1- Epidermis, This is the top layer which you can see. It provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone through melanocyte (melanin)
2- Dermis, Which is the middle layer. This contains tough connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands.
3- Subcutaneous layer which is made of fat and connective tissue.
What are undertones?
An 'undertone' is your own color that can be best seen under natural light (e.g. sunlight).
It's best not to use flourescent or incandescent lighting when determining undertones.
People generally have warm, cool, or neutral undertones. Determining this can help you get the most natural look as possible when picking out makeup for your own skin colour especially in the case of foundations and powders.
There are a few different methods you can use to see which type you have, with the most common ones being looking at your veins aswell as your natural hair and eye color and seeing what your skin looks like next to gold or silver jewellery or a white cloth.
Here at Laminau we try to consider all these small details so we can meet the requirements of our customers no matter what shade they are! ... so if there are any suggestions then feel free to let us know x
Everyone has beauty inside and out.
For the skin, aswell as having the correct cosmetic shades and colours to enhance our natural glow, It’s also recommended to nourish from the source too (the skin)
My personal favourite superfood is the Avacado. It is been known for its benefits to the skin aswell as general health even weightloss.
I spread avacado on toast as a substitute to butter for breakfast and drink water with a fresh cut lemon.
Any other suggestions on quick easy recipes/snacks using avocados, feel free to comment :)
