![]() Our skin is made up of upto 70% water. Even the earth is made up of upto 70% water so it makes sense to give back to our body what it needs. We all hear about drinking plenty of water, its good for our skin, losing weight etc etc ... but how many other ways can we use water in order to help our skin as we constantly cover up our pores with different types of makeup products out there. We know that makeup products will always be here and we all still love some form of makeup whether it be a lipstick, face blush or eyeshadow. I personally believe less is more and that the more we look after our skin, the better the makeup will look on us and won't need to wear too much, which not only cuts our beauty routine in half but more importantly lets our skin breath. Steam is a natural remedy for skincare that time has forgotton. It has been and is still widely used throughout spas, especially in places such as the middle east and asia. They dedicate a whole ritual to cleansing the skin where the client is covered in olive based black soap, left to steam then mineral-rich clay mask is applied and rinsed off, finished off by a soothing massage with oils to relax. In our daily busy lives, we unfortunately aren't able to do this so often so to get the eastern experience of ancient skincare here is an alternative and quicker way to get the most out of using steam for flawless shiny glowing skin. Salt and boiled water work wonders. Salt is also an antiseptic so will help with any spots and bacteria/toxins in the skin. All you need is: Hot water, salt, spoon to mix and a towel to cover over your head. 1- Simply boil water till hot, 2- Add to a bowl, (careful not to burn yourself if carrying) 3- Add two teaspoons of any type of salt, cooking salt, sea salt into the hot water bowl 4- Mix with spoon 5- Place towl over your head 6- Keep face over the hot salty water bowl for atleast 10mins. This can be done once every 2 weeks from home. And between that time simply rubbing a raw lemon (cut in half) all over the face and washing off after 5mins works wonders. It helps with evening out skintone for people with hyperpigmentation problems, blotchy skin, it may burn and feel tightening on the face at first but just know it works amazing! (some people even see results instantly...just make sure you dont have any open cuts or healing scars when rubbing raw lemon onto skin )
