![]() As a beauty therapist, i often use many massage techniques whether i'm giving a simple manicure to an eyelash/brow treatment. The secret really to good skin is all about blood flow. Massages help blood flow and our bodies rely on the heart pumping blood around the body which brings me onto the ancient art of 'Hijama' (cupping therapy). You would think that the menstrual cycle is more than enough for us ladies, right!? Well, Hijama is an ancient islamic technique that has been in use in many countries to treat certain skin diseases or bodily disorders. Practised amongst the chinese and particurlarly islamic countries throughout the middle east and asia. It's now being recognized as an alternative medicine or natural holistic way of treating different diseases and bodily disorders. (even Kim Kardashian had something very similar- 'vampire facial' ) Hijama promotes the flow of energy in the blood, removes toxins and waste, therefore helps fasten recovery time. It is good for migrains and even weightloss as it helps drains the lymphatic system. How it's performed:
And if you are interested or want to find out anyone who is certified in your local area to perform this, it would be best to visit or ask either a local chinese/arab store or a mosque/islamic centre as most times they would know where to direct you. If you're squeemish and not a fan of seeing blood then there are always the alternative rubber suction cups from ebay and amazon that you can buy. They work in a similar way although not with deep lasting effects as an original hijama treatment would give you. So, have you ever had a hijama treatment before? please feel free to share your experiences.
